Schedule - graphic overrides not working on layout

Anonymous

Hi

We are updating our office template to AC20. We want our window/door schedules to have the 2d projection without fills. This is now controlled with graphic overrides. We get the result we want, as long as we are in the schedule window. However, when we place the schedule on a layout, the graphic overrides seem to have no effect! With other kinds of drawings (plan, elevation etc.) it works all right. Please, can you reproduce this, are we doing something wrong or is this a bug?

The version is AC20 4011 FIN FULL

I tried to reproduce what you're seeing, Julius, and did see some pretty weird / inconsistent / not-reproducible behavior as far as viewing a window legend with and without fills. I have no active projects, so just opened an old one using the AC 17 library and let it be converted but not migrated.

In my case, whatever my view was defined as is what showed up on my layout. I was not able to get what you show. Is every setting for your view defined (no 'missing' or 'custom'?), and you are sure that that exact view is the placed drawing (perhaps drag the view again to a fresh sheet to test)?

The strange behavior I'm seeing with the AC 17 library parts sometimes responding to a Model View Option and sometimes responding to a Graphic Override (and sometimes to neither) is likely some weird thing with the old library and migration. Since your example is using an AC20 door (Ovi 20), that cannot be the cause of your view vs drawing appearance... which is why I wonder about the view settings themselves... and if the placed view (drawing) in your migrated template might have something wrong and you have to place a fresh copy of the view to resolve?

Thanks for your answer Karl!

I did this in a blank project, with AC20 FIN standard template, standard library parts. So it's not a migrated template / library thing.
I played with it a little more and turns out the workaround is to first set the graphic overrides right in the schedule window, save it as a new view and place that as a new drawing on the layout... but if you try to change the settings of a view or change the source of the drawing later, you're stuck with the original setting.
Hope this bug will be corrected.

Thanks for posting how you were able to reproduce this bug! It is somewhat random whether GS support will notice this thread - so please report (and link to this thread) to MAD in Helsinki. http://www.mad.fi/tuki/archicad

Cheers,
Karl

Losing my hair trying to fix this as well...

Some other wierd related items....

- it appears the OPEN GL Material (not a vector hatch) is being applied.
- Shows up ALL the time on screen in Schedule Editor and Layout but doesn't always print.
- In TW project, looks different from MAC to PC

If you mean the fix was part of 4020.. not so... I've got that it still happens.
If it is UPCOMING... WHEN... How do I print schedules in the meantime without all the BLACK fills?
