Some time ago i heard that there is a plugin in development to resolve communication between SU and AC.

Does anyone know what was its fate?
SU is growing fast, and its a great tool

It's due out July 15 I believe. I'm sure you'll hear more here or at Sketchup's website.

Cheers,

Just to clarify for readers:

Sketchup content (4 or 5) can be brought into ArchiCAD via 3DS as a GDL object with all texture mapping preserved. (Export as 3DS from SU; import 3DS via add-on from the AC 9 Goodies folder.) This provides yet one more way to create custom content for ArchiCAD.

The plug-in that you guys are talking about is one that will attempt to convert SketchUp surfaces to individual ArchiCAD elements ... not GDL objects ... by reading native *.skp files.

Each approach has its own uses. 😉

I keep getting an email from my reseller (Archvista) describing some new Archicad plug-in for Sketchup, but his site will not open and a google search produces nothing.
Does anyone know what is being talked about here? Is there a new plug-in on offer and I simply can't find it?

PS. I use Sketchup routinely, but I go the other way: Archicad first, then Sketchup. Saving DWGs from the 3D window gets me a perfect model in Sketchup of whatever I had in the AC 3d window, which I can then tweak and clean up in SU. This resolves all of the "elevations look bad in Archicad" issues that stems from making elevations from linked models. Then I take a perspective shot or an axon, for elevations, save as a jpeg (not difficult to scale) and put the jpeg back into archicad - works beautifully and is much faster (IMO) than manipulating and cleaning up elevations in AC itself.

I believe it is being "polished"... I have not seen a release date announced.
