Triangulation (or....how I spent my Wednesday)

I'm convinced that models brought into AC from FormZ will always be triangulated....can anyone prove me wrong...(hopefully )...?

I've tried every possible import/export feature from both FormZ and AC as wells as used solid and facetted models. The problem is that we would like to start using more model objects that we receive from consultants (for instance we just got a lot of detailed kitchen equipment models), but in elevation or section these items show up all triangulated which really sucks

Thanks for any help or suggestions

I think it's a lot more likely that you will be proven right.

Is this import in 3Ds format?

If so, there is a command for importing 3Ds as "force smooth" at the actual moment of importation - see attached.

This works for me with Poser models.
