ifcSpace adds unwanted openings from doors and windows

I would prefer to get the ifcSpace as a simple geometry stopping at the walls, simple boxes. For some reason I some times get doors or windows as part of the ifcSpace, leaving a indentation on the wallsurface. It can be window or door usually something that goes all the way to the floor either on the facade or a doorway inside a room. Any clue as to why and how to avoid this?

Thanks

Is it controlled by the zone settings in Project Preferences?

I assume the ifcSpace is the IFC conversion of a zone.
