AC17, 5019, Detail tool gone bad in project

Hello to all,

During the development of this project, the detail tool has decided to stop working as its intended. I can no longer reshape the detail once its been made.

I have tried deleting all my preferences. I have had other co workers open the file on their machines to see if the problem is related to a setting on my machine. Fact is, there is something wrong in this file. I am now having to move the whole project to another file. I figured out how to copy all the building, sections, detail markers, existing, demo and new parts. I have moved all the attributes over.

What I cannot figure out an easy method to move over is the content in the worksheets, details, set views and the layout sheets. I have moved over the Master Sheets.

Has anyone found a relatively easy way to move all the content from one file to another?

Turn on "Marker Range".

It's: On screen view options> Marker Range

..and have the detail tool active.

HOLY C***!

It was really that simple of a fix!

Now, why is this an option to change??? This should be the standard way of editing detail boundaries, not an option. I can understand toggling the section lines or elevations. But for a plan detail, heck even for a detail drawn in section or elevation, why the need to hide the edges?

Thank you very much.

Can someone pass this info on to GS Tech Training? I had the tech do a screen share and he did not get it. IMHO, this is one place we dont need this feature.

Now back to my other file to continue my work.

These boundary lines don't print (like the Roof pivot lines, Textbox handles, Fill handles, etc.), so it helps when wanting to view the documentation as it will be printed. As seen in your screen shot, the editable boundary is a rectangle, but the actual (printing) detail boundary has rounded corners, this screen display option helps with seeing the actual output.
