Hello, im new to Archicad and im sure this question has been covered but i couldn't find an answer that worked.
Basically i have used the grid element tool to insert grids on my ground floor plan.
I have also used an 'earth' fill to show behind a retaining wall. Ive made these both grey but when i put them on my layout they are all black.
My pens are both set to detail , layers is on show all...
It seems certain greys show the same in layout but most revert to black.
Surely theres a way to just show on layout the exact same way as on the project map?
Any help would be great.

Hello,
Check if the pen set of your drawing is set correctly in the drawing options.
Just do a right-click on your drawing and go to the Drawing Selection Settings. Then look if your pen set matches with the one you use.

Thanks for the reply, i have just checked this and yes it does match. I did manage to get them grey but they're still not the same. It's still much darker on the layout.

Can you show a screen capture of the view settings of your saved view and of the drawing settings in your sheet?

If you select the Drawing on the Layout and go to its settings, what is the setting for the "Colors" field? Is it "Defined by Pen Set" or something else?

Yeah its on 'Defined by pen set'
I managed to get the grid lines grey by using a custom pen set. But they are still darker on my layout.

No. What I'd like to see is that:

Try to change the colors from grayscale to defined by pen set.
Also, click on View Drawing’s own pen set to check how the pen number of your grey axes appear.
