HP Designjet 800/Mac OSX/Plotmaker problem

Hello,

We have a problem plotting to or new HP designjet 800 (not PS) from Plotmaker/Archicad ( versions 7 and 8 ) - Mac OSX 10.3.3 via TCP/IP.

Whatever drawing we "Plot" to the Desigjet gets printed in draft, with faint banding which is unacceptable. This occurs even when the Designjet is set to print in Best.

When we "Print" the same Plotmaker drawing using the HP driver it is possible to select normal or best mode from the print driver. The results are perfect.

However the HP driver will only print short edge first whatever the settings, which means that we have to keep changing A1 and A0 rolls.

Please can somone tell us how to get Plotmaker to "Plot" in "Normal" or "Best" mode to our Designjet.

Thanks for reading this.

Regards,

Nick Harvey

Nick,

I recall reading somewhere that the short edge first issue is a flaw in HP's drivers, and that they're working on a fix. Check with HP if you can obtain a beta or something. However, I'd try updating OSX to 10.3.4 first. It fixes various issues in 10.3.3. Do it unless you know something specific that it breaks.
