dimension positioning

I am wondering if there is a dimension tool setting where it tells to insert the dimension text by default.

When there is a narrower dimension it automatically throws the text outside of the dimension points ( as in top dim line in red in the attached picture)
I want to have dimension text always in the middle by default ( as in the blue dim line) without moving it.

Is there a preference in AC10 that I am missing to specify where it is locating the text insert point.

I think the only way is to use a narrower font. Archicad moves the dimension text if its bounding box doesn't fit between the side lines.
