shadow settings

I'd like to have elevation shadows on when I plot my drawing set, but off typically while I'm working.

But the vectorial shadow setting is under elevation settings (which appear to be global) rather than view settings (which would be much much better, I think) so it seems that I have to turn them on and off manually for each elevation each time I want to go back and forth.

Is that the case? Has anyone found a way to save the shadow setting 'on' for particular views but 'off' otherwise?

thanks!

Since shadow settings are part of your S/E settings, I think your only option would be to save different views, one with drafting fills on and one with them off. (Well, set to contours only). Not the best solution, as it turns off all drafting fills, but it's a start.

Otherwise you would have to start doubling up your S/Es.

Cheers,

If I turn off the fills, I wonder if it will still take the time to calculate the shadows... I'll give it a try.

And actually, I think that doubling up the elevations might work well - one set for drafting, one for output with shadows.. I'm goign to try that as well.

thanks
