Comma on dimension (eg. 1,000) - How to remove the comma?

Hi everyone

It is relatively easy on WinXP to opt for no commas representing dimensions in the thousands (eg. 1,000 to 1000) by customizing the global settings.

But how do we do it on Mac OSX? Please help! Thanks!

This is a Bad Thing with MacOSX.
In Tiger (10.4) Apple removed the option to customize number formats, which was there in Panther (10.3).
If you like to delve in System innards, here are a couple of links on the issue. For the less brave of heart, we're hoping this is back in Leopard (due in a month or two I guess).

Remember: At your own risk!

Oh my...I started reading the first link you have provided and closed the link within less than a minute of trying to understand what it was trying to say.

Tough...let's hope that Leopard would allow such customization.

Thanks anyway!

Sure...
the second link seems to do exactly what you want, without any redundant explanations...
make sure you have a decent backup though
