At Benazzi Engenharia we like to explore the functionalities of BIMx and we go beyond the usual use of visualization of BIM models. One of the BIMx use is so our clients can have access to the three-dimensional aerial photogrammetry survey made with drone.
We notice that in construction the digital files not always reach the client. Due to the different file formats or the need for high-performance computers, clients and workers often have little access to the contents produced in the offices.
We see BIMx as an easy and practical alternative that brings digital models closer to all those involved in construction.
About the project:
The image survey was made with a professional drone.
Afterwards, the images were processed, obtaining a three-dimensional mesh with textures in .OBJ format.
The next step was to convert this file in Rhinoceros, to import it in Archicad in .3DS format.
With the model in Archicad it was possible to export in BIMx format.
We can also import IFC models into Archicad and create a BIMx that contains IFC information. For example, the possibility of reading the exact length of a tube based on a property described in the IFC.
BIMx can be used to enhance design and makes information access easier for everyone involved.
