The design intent was to create a place of hospitality, entertainment, relaxation, and reflection; an informal, modern annex that complements the "formal" Majlis located inside the more traditional family villa.
The Majlis is located at the crossed axis formed by the Garden lawn and Hadeerah fire pit. The Majlis space feels, and is, neither inside nor outside. It inhabits the 'inside-outside" threshold like a rocking chair on a veranda. The resultant architectural dialog is intimate and informal; like casual conversations with friends around a campfire.
The BIMx model is federated with Architecture, MEP, Structure, Home Automation and even Interior elements. These elements were modeled as per the consultant drawings. It provided efficiency in coordination and decision-making at site specially with all the unexpected setbacks that arise during construction stage. It was beneficial to our contractors and suppliers too as they were introduced to this modern tool that is undoubtedly still a rarity in this region, specially in the UAE.
The project has also received a few recognitions form international organizations.
