Hi,
I have noticed sometimes when creating an object, that it won't place in the floor plan, it just clicks a blank.
However, if I select an existing object, open the dialogue window, select my newly created object, then AC replaces the previous object on the floorplan with the newly created object without issue.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Many thanks Matt

Are you placing the new object on a different storey than what you are working on?
Or with a renovation status that is currently hidden?
If you ALT-click an existing object to get its settings, then change to your new object and place it, does that work?

I suspect you were placing the object on a storey that was not your current one, or with a renovation status that was set ti hidden (wasn't that it seems).
By ALT-clicking an existing object that you can see, you are resetting al of the defaults for the object tool.
Then simply swapping to your object does not alter those defaults, just changes the object you will place.
So, your object will be placed with the correct settings.
I also now suspect if you choose to 'show all in 3D' that you will probably find your objects on another storey (if they are 3D objects).
If not, turn on all layers and check each storey plan.
Barry.

Hi Barry,
I checked all layers and there were no hidden objects and renovation status was switched off. There are also no zero length variables in the GDL code.
The ALT-Click works though, brilliant! Why is that?
Many thanks, Matt
