Wish: Demolition walls created by new openings in existing walls should be seperate walls!

As currently stands in all versions up to and including AC28; automatic demolition walls created by new openings in existing walls,

  • don't have a seperate GUID,
  • don't appear in the demolition renovation filter (so can't be exported as part of a demolition model)
  • don't appear in the demolition lists (which leads to underestimation of the demolition quantities)

In the drawing plans and sections with a renovation filter of all or new and demolition everything looks fine at first glance but if the model is exported or you need to show only demolition then the relevant parts disappear. It is often a requirement here from the structural engineer for the Architect to provide a demolition only IFC. The omission of these parts from the demolition model leads to the structural engineers missing required new lintels for example.

Most worryingly for a software that is approved by BuildingSmart as a BIM software the parts won't appear in demolition lists, so the total quantity of demolition is always understimated, unless you have enough time to waste modelling the demolition seperately. Fine maybe for a small building, not so great for the renovation of 30 storey skyscraper where lots of new openings are created.

This appears to be a very large ommision by Graphisoft. Revit is capable to create new (demolition) walls automatically in these cases, I appreciate the programming complexity involved but if Revit can, why can't Archicad? Please Graphisoft, include this in the next version!

Example below using AC28 German Version:

comparision of 1. Demolition wall, 2. Existing wall with new opening, 3. Existing wall. Not that in renovation filter (Picture 2) "demolition only", only 1. is shown.
