Is it possible to bring this forgotten renaissance masterpiece back to life?
The answer to this question is in your hands!
In the countryside of Rome, hidden in a forest outside the small village of Genazzano, there is a forgotten renaissance pavilion. This is Bramante’s Nymphaeum, designed by the famous Italian architect Donato Bramante and built at the beginning of the fifteenth century by the Colonna family. The pavilion was the centerpiece of a large garden, with lakes and a small river located on the hillside next to the main entrance to the town. It was abandoned immediately after its completion.
The fifth edition of the cultural project Reuse Italy invites architects, engineers, and students to reimagine the ruin as a theater and public park. The contest is organized in partnership with ArchDaily, KooZarch, and Graphisoft, and with the official support of the Municipality of Genazzano and the local association Proloco.
