July selection of helpful articles

Dear Community Members,

Every month, we take a closer look at the questions and challenges you've faced — and we respond by creating and updating articles that help you find solutions faster and work more efficiently.

Here's a roundup of the most common issues we helped resolve this month, along with the most useful resources we recommend reading.

What you asked and what we answered

This month, several of you ran into 3D styles that didn't seem to take effect in the 3D window. Here's the article that helps you troubleshoot it:

  • 3D styles not being applied in 3D — If your 3D view keeps its previous appearance no matter which style you select, this checklist walks you through confirming your active style, ruling out project-specific causes, and checking whether a view filter (Graphic Overrides, Renovation Filter, Design Options, or Model View Options) is overriding the display.

If a 3D Style refuses to update on your end, work through the checklist step by step before reaching out to Support.

Community know-how: tips from Community members and our experts

Our community members and experts regularly share practical insights and solutions. This month's highlights include:

  • Archicad trial activation troubleshooting checklist — If you're evaluating Archicad and hit a snag during download, installation, or license activation, this checklist walks you through the most common fixes, from installer errors to "No License Found" messages, plus what to prepare if you need to contact Support.
  • Built-in Cineware rendering in Archicad: Beyond basic — Ready to move past default renders? This article shows you how to use Cineware's detailed settings — color correction, depth of field, surface channels like reflectance and displacement, and exporting render elements for postprocessing — to get more out of your visualizations without leaving Archicad.

  • Hotlinks in Archicad: Copy Once, Update Everywhere — If you're duplicating the same room or unit across a project, this article shows you how to set up Hotlink Modules so you can edit a single source file and refresh every placed instance at once, instead of fixing each copy by hand.
  • Control door orientation text in Archicad Schedules with Properties — This article shows you how to combine a Boolean Property and a String Property with an expression so double-leaf doors display "NA" instead of a misleading "R/L" label in your Door and Window Schedules.
