Dear Community Members,
This month’s tip comes from @Fra, who shared an efficient approach to aligning curved walls and slabs in Archicad. An accurate model must match the segmentation between the two elements — when the slab and the wall have different curve resolutions, their edges may not align perfectly, causing gaps or overlaps.
When working with curved walls and slabs, aligning their edges is necessary for a tidy and precise model. If the walls and slabs use different segmentation methods to approximate curves, there will be slight gaps or overlaps at their intersections.

Use the Polygonal Method to create a slab manually, making sure to match the wall’s radius and origin for precise alignment.
Alternatively, our moderator @Barry Kelly points out that using the Magic Wand with the "Best Match" setting can also help create accurate connection between elements. Where to find it: Design menu > Magic Wand Settings.

Match the Slab’s Edge with the Wall’s Reference Line, making sure both the wall and the slab have the same number of segments along the curve. This will guarantee accurate alignment.
While Fra’s method focuses on precise adjustments, @Ricardo Lopez suggests slightly offsetting the slab boundary inward so that it aligns with the structural core of the wall, allowing the finishing layers to pass through uninterrupted, like real construction methods.
Thank you to our fellow community member @Fra for sharing this solution to perfectly align curved walls and slabs. Also a shout out to @Laszlo Nagy , @Barry Kelly, and @Ricardo Lopez for contributing additional insights.
