UPDATED: Slow Archicad 26 startup after installing Update 4

Dear Archicad users,

This is a follow-up to our previous message (see below the separator line) about Archicad 26's delayed startup after Update 4 (600x) is installed.

Update 4 was released for 11 language versions (INT, USA, UKI, AUS, NZE, GER, AUT, BRA, FRA, ITA, CHE). We have switched off the Check for Updates automation in Archicad, so Archicad will not notify you about the Update. As a fallback, those who need it will find it available on our Downloads site.

We are working on a new version of the Update, which is scheduled to become available in the second week of December.

Finally, here is a short reminder about the solutions available to those who need to install the current Update version and encounter the delayed startup issue:

Option A: Wait until the temporary files are deleted and Archicad starts. After this, the phenomenon no longer occurs on the computer.

Option B: Manually delete these temporary files as a faster workaround. Here's how:

1. Navigate to the folder:

  • Windows: C:\Users\<USER>\Graphisoft\IPC Data\
  • macOS: Users/user/Library/Application Support/Graphisoft/IPC Data/

2. Delete the content of the folder.

Thank you for your patience,

Dear Archicad Users,

An issue has been found in Archicad 26 Update 4 (600x). Due to the slow deletion of temporary files, the first Archicad startup after the Update install might take up to 5-10 minutes.

After the files are deleted, Archicad starts up, and the phenomenon doesn’t happen again on the computer.

As a quicker workaround, you can manually delete these temporary files.

1. Navigate to the folder:

  • Windows: C:\Users\<USER>\Graphisoft\IPC Data\
  • macOS: Users/user/Library/Application Support/Graphisoft/IPC Data/

2. Then delete the content of the folder.

We are investigating our options to fix the issue, and get back to with further news soon.

Thank you for your patience,

Technical Support Team
