License Delivery maintenance is expected to occur on Saturday, November 30, between 8 AM and 11 AM CET. 18 install

Just downloaded v18. I am running windows 7 64. First thing I am prompted to is a windows request to choose a program to open files with. I am a long time user who has updated each time since v5 and this is the first time I have been asked that. The Cancel button stops the process. SO: If I don't select one what happens? If I have to select one do I select ArchiCAD 14?

In past updates though (not recent ones) I had issues with automatically shunted to Adobe illustrator and every file thumbnail shows up adobe. I would like to avoid the clusterf**k if possible.

Any thoughts? thanks Cary

Not sure... but to me, this looks like your antivirus stripped off the ".exe" after the AC18-USA installation file... and so Windows is trying to figure out what program can open this incorrectly-named file.

Make sure that the downloaded installer is an .exe and sort that out. The normal installation will set AC 18 up as the default app for PLN files, etc.

If you've had this issue in the past... it is no doubt related to your antivirus, which should be temporarily disabled during installation.

I have turned off everything I can find and it is still not getting thru. Avast, windows defender, and Firewall shut off. Could there possibly be a setting in Windows explorer 11 / tools / internet options / security that impacts this?

Just reminded myself I have been doing the recent annual upgrade with a disk.

Yes, apparently if the IE security settings are too high, or are customized, then you cannot download exe files... at least from a quick google. Do some searching for 'unable to download exe files'...
