A single Dell 24" wide LCD or 2 x 20.1 wide LCDs?

I need to upgrade a workstation and was wondering what would work best. I 've always used a dual screen set up but I see those Dell 24" wides are pretty nice. I can also get 2 x 20.1 wide LCDs for about the same price as a single 24" wide LCD.
Not sure how Archicad works on a single wide screen.

Any takers?

Using two monitors without becoming a cripple

I adopted the 2 monitor when a 17" LCD cost 1000 Euros. Way back.

You have to be careful about positioning the monitors, though, otherwise you will get serious neck problems.

I did what seemed logical to me, one to the left and the other to the right. So I would turn my head left and right equally, because I was going to use both as much, right? Wrong.

Consider
I, like almost everyone, use the left monitor for: Plan window in AC, main word document window, Plan window in Artlantis (way back in version 3 and 4), internet explorer, and some other minor stuff.

This meant I was looking most of the time to my left.

I now have some problems with my neck, nothing too horrible, but I know it will get worse with age. Everything else does, except portuguese wine

So, my ardent advice is: If you use two monitors, even of the same size, put the left one square in front of you.

Probably the best setting would be 3 monitors, with main in the middle.

.
Thats very good advise
I once had my computer and screen in the corner of my desk. and developed a bad back as a result of the subconcious twisting. It took some time to rectify.

Miguel if you are still having problems look for some who practices "Alexander Technique" for correction of posture related issues.

As a long time user of two displays, i would always recommend two smaller displays over one large display. The pixel cost is lower and the screen area is naturally divided into separate functions.

After several years with dual 21" Sony tube type displays, i shifted to a 30" Cinema and never got comfy with it until i got a tick bird LG 20" display to deal with dialog box and web browser ticks that detracted from the pristine plan view in Archicad.

The LG 20" displays were on sale at Christmas for CDN$300. Much cheaper here than the comparable Samsung products. Lousy adjusting bases, but there's plenty you can do with a stack of 2x6's.
