Archicad Sample Projects don't work

I need simple instructions on how to run Archicad Sample Projects. After downloading I get a message saying "Cannot read plan file" Remember that there is only one .pla file in the downloads.

An older version of Archicad will get that message if trying to open a file created in / saved by a newer version.  If that is not the issue, then perhaps a corrupt download?  What version of Archicad are you using?  What license type - professional/perpetual, EDU, subscription?
