Cloud cursor

When I want to draw something, let's say with the mesh tool into 2D, a cloud cursor appears which won't let me draw anything. Other drawing tools won't work either in 2D. In 3D it does work. Does this sounds familiar to anyone? How can I use my tools in 2D as well?

The cloud cursor is a 3D cursor, I have never seen it in 2D.
I would say something is definitely wrong.

Has this only just happened (i.e. it was fine before) or have you only just started using Archicad?

What version are you using and what is your operating system and machine specification?
This is important information to include when you are seeking help.

Make sure your operating system, drivers and Archicad itself are all up to date.
Restart you machine and see if that helps.
If not please provide more information.

Dear Mathieu,

Thank you very much for the report and I am very sorry about the issue!

The cloud cursor means that this is an empty space, there are no selectable objects at this location. You can find out more about the cursors in Archicad here.

As Barry mentioned, I've never seen it in 2D. Maybe there is something wrong with the current file you are working on? Does it happen with an empty default template?

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Best regards,
Minh

Has this been solved? Had a similar problem the other day when opening a random dwg file( Archicad 24 3008 INT) If I select all and copy paste to another file it works. However, in the mother file I can't select or create anything (individually).

Hello Theo,

Thank you very much for the question!

Based on your description, to me, it sounds like the Far From Origin issue: https://helpcenter.graphisoft.com/knowledgebase/25447/

This tends to happen with DWG file having elements far from each other. I'm wondering if that's the case here?

Looking forward to hearing from you!
Best regards,
Minh
