Thanks for the reply,

I have downloaded and installed USB overdrive, but still can't quite get the Pan to work with pressing the wheel down and dragging.
( however it now dosn't leave archicad and go to the finder.)

I will do a search for usb overdrive as well and see what I find, as I do remember seeing some stuff on this in previous posts.

I have been using Intellimouse 5.0 with my 5-button optical (not wireless) mouse for almost a year. I can program the pan function to the scroll button or one of the side buttons. I have even used the scroll button as the delete key. I have not had to go to the USB Overdrive driver. I have had a few crashes that I'm guessing are related to starting one action barely after finishing the last one. Since you, too, have a G5, you should be pleased with the speed increase. I work in Teamwork over a server, and try not to speed through the send/receive process.

Mabe,

The wireless mouse is on a G4 in our office but all the system is the same. If possible can you roughly descibe how you managed to set the pan? I guess I'm missing something simple, probably not looking in the right menu or something.

My G5 is great although it would have been nice to have the dual!!
I work on a standalone connected only for internet and file transfer.
haven't worked on teamwork yet.

I have a PC at home with AC8.0 and comparing the two I actually think my PC is faster. I also have a G4 mac on system 9.0 which I must upgrade soon. the PC is fast but I prefer the MAC'S

Hi There -
I'm using an MS intellimouse 3.0 via USB w/USB Overdrive 10.3 on my Mac and can pan/zoom in AC8.1 fine. In the USB Overdrive settings, I have the scroll button set to "Middle Click" when pressed down. The scroll up and scroll down are set to do just that. Hope that helps.

Does the pan function work when clicking on the screen then moving the mouse in the desired direction?
did this work in AC8.0? the zoom in and out by just moving the wheel is fine but when clicking and dragging with the wheel does nothing.

The wheel is set to middle button and archicad is loaded as an application for the mouse, and is the selected application when altering the settings.

which function is the pan? scroll up when clicked? page up? I'm lost.

it's not on my machine so not really a problem for me, but I have this ability on my pc at home and find it great!
one day the boss may get me a device with more than one click!

Kerry,
Here is a screen shot that shows the pan command as a keystroke, either the AC default or whichever key you have it set to. You must first choose the application by clicking 'Add', then browsing to it. Then select the tab 'Buttons' or 'Scrolling' to set the keystrokes.

With 2 18" screens, I can't imagine working without my MS mouse.
