We use an aging HP DesignJet 800PS, with jobs spooled over the network by Plotflow on our server. Depending on what we're plotting, it can be pretty slow. I don't know what the plotter cpu speed is, but it can't be the fastest.
Maybe we could run X-RIP by Microspot on a dedicated unused computer/ plot server (a G4 Mac), as a short-term solution.
Would this speed up plotting for us? Would it benefit all files, or just certain ones? Are there alternatives to X-RIP?
Any feedback would help us get a handle on this.
Thanks in advance,
Matthew
