VERY SLOW FILE LOADING ACAD 24 / MAC OSX CATALINA

Anonymous
Not applicable
Hi,
New on here but have been using ArchiCAD on Mac OSX since 2003. Our office recently 'upgraded' to MacOSX Catalina and ArchiCAD 24, after waiting the requisite 6 months for the software to catch up with the new OS release. We also purchased brand new iMacs, custom spec to meet 'medium' GS system requirements (we do mainly small scale residential).

We've noticed that ArchiCAD files are glacially slow to load, even small ones take around 30 mins to load. Has anyone else experienced similar issues, and if you know of any remedies we'd be so glad to hear them and give them a try?

Thanks in advance.

Jim

Hello JimHicks200282,

I worked with "old" macbook pro 2015 with Catalina with AC24 without any slow loadings.
Now I work with the same computer with BigSur always without slow loadings.

My configuration :
MacBook Pro (Retina 13 pouces, début 2015)
MacOS 11.2.3 (20D91)
2,9 GHz Intel Core i5 double cœur
16 Go 1867 MHz DDR3
Intel Iris Graphics 6100 1536 Mo

What about yours and what about your Archicad 24 version ?

Dear Jim,

Thank you for the question and I am very sorry about the experience!

To better identify the situation, I would like to ask a couple of questions:
- Does Archicad also slow when you start a new file?
- Is there any external screen connected when you start Archicad?
- Does Archicad start faster when there is no license (Demo mode)?

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Best regards,
Minh
