need advice on printer purchase

hello

can anyone give a strong recommendation on a printer purchase?

we needed to buy an A2 printer, so we decided on the HP 90r - then did some additional research and discovered that the HP110+NR is only about £100 more and would enable us to print up to A1 size.

has anyone used the HP110+NR or would you recommend any other A1 printer for approx. same price (£943+VAT)?

thanks - need to buy today so any advice would be appreciated.

HI Moji; We purchased our 110NR just about a year ago. It has worked quite well. Very fast, never a paper jam. Long ink life. etc. Only problem, if the tray feed runs out of paper, and you are not there to baby sit it, it will grab the roll feed paper and start printing on that. That I feel is a bug, but HP says that's just the way it is designed. One final thing. This printer is huge, it needs room behind it, it needs a ton of room in front of it. Consider the rolling stand. It may give you more freedom to fit it into your office.

Hi Dave - sorry it's taken me so long to say thanks.

I bought the 110+nr w/ stand - though, I haven't had a chance to set it up yet (was on holiday).

I am moving my 'department' next door to a slightly larger office and was wondering whether (if easy) you could tell me the approx. floor area required?

Thanks again

Moji:
I missed your first post...but would have said get it. Not a bad printer for the price, if your max output is 24"x 36". I wouldn't call it huge either, merely large (the 500 series is huge). I keep mine under my desk (on a custom rolling stand) It takes up an area roughly 4' wide by 3' deep

You can save ink and time by using the "Fast" quality setting. I use it for all my test plots (you can also recycle the reverse side of test prints by using the front hand feeder).

I had a problem with print speeds after upgrading to OS 10.4 , but resolved the issue with updated print drivers.
