A "Smart" roof label

Anonymous
Not applicable
I've searched this forum and can't find anything.

I want to make/get a label object that can be used in the following manner:

Click on a roof then click on the desired location for the label. The label needs to display the rise and run of the 'clicked on' roof.

Is this possible? and How?

Stress co- thanks for the guidance in troubleshooting.

I tried it with a new file and roof from scratch- worked find.

Turns out it doesn't work if the roof "floor plan display" is set to "projected"- it needs to be "outline" Glad I figured out the limitation, but I'd like for it to work in projected mode...

Good to know the reason why.
Thanks for figuring it out

You could create the "smart" label via the roof accessories and then drag new
copies (or eyedropper the object and place).

The copies will show with the roof set to "projected",
but they won't be "smart".

Seems like a bug to me.
