My firm does mainly churches, so a lot of seating layouts. The Audience Seating 24 object is the only one I've found that will lay out chairs in a curve. The problems are:
-We cannot change the chair to individual (moveable) seats, or any other style.
-We cannot conform the layout to a trapezoid or pie shape
-We cannot get a seat count?
-We cannot delete individual seats to get a broad layout to conform to the trapezoidal layout.
To get the results we've needed I've had to layout guide line curves, then set individual rows of seats. A layout of 200 seats has taken at least an hour.
Is there a better way to do this? This is a major issue for our firm, as 95% of our projects involve 100-600 curved seat layouts.

It sounds like you might be better off multiplying individual seats to get the flexibility and data that you want?
If you weren't aware, when you multiply any object, you can have the object placed on a pre-drawn path (selected after the multiply command) and have the objects rotated along the path. See screenshot

Thanks Karl. That sounds better than the seating layout object, but will still require a lot of setup. Where would we get a seat count with this method?

LM19 wrote:Seat count would just be an element schedule filtered by any of ID, object name, etc or even just all objects on a dedicated seating layer, etc. If you have different seat styles to report, same kind of thing for filtering and subtotals. If you have handicap 'landing pads' for wheelchairs to include in the same schedule, you'll need to use a simple object to represent them so they show up in the same schedule subject to the grand total.

Python may also be used to do the Chair renumbering.
On this download page, you will find a free downloadable Python script called "Chair Renumbering":
