Built-in Drawing Title Problem in Archicad 29

As I attempt to keep our new projects on the latest version of Archicad, obviously I run into changes that occur (i.e. lib packs).  Many are great but some cause me confusion.

As recently as Archicad 27, the Built-in Drawing Title in the Drawing Selection Setting window had overrides for the Text Styles of the Drawing Name, Drawing Number, Drawing Scale and even Additional Data and Back Reference.  Obviously this was very useful to alter the Font and Font Size of various information available in the Drawing Title.  All of which could be linked to a Detail Markers and other drawings for automatic updating as drawings and sheet numbers changed.

Now starting in AC 28 (and carried into AC 29) these overrides have been reduced to only for the Drawing Name and Drawing Scale while the Layout ID or Drawing ID are controlled by the selection in the Title Text Style section.  WHY?  I see that Drawing Number is now called Layout ID or Drawing ID but neither have a way to edit the Font shown even though there is an Override icon next to it if it's picked. Overriding the Name and Scale options that are listed don't change the Drawing ID, Layout ID, Extension or Custom Text.  All of which are options that can be chosen but their Font and Font size are linked inexplicably to the Title Text Style.

I also noticed the options to chose a Scale of "NOT TO SCALE" and the Additional Data Content were removed.  WHY?

Please tell me I missed something.  This is frustrating.

Joel

Could you show some images of 27 and 29?

This is what I see in 29 and it is exactly the same for me as 27.

Barry,
Here is what I see in AC 29 when I select the various check boxes for options of what the Title Block shows, and the resulting Override selections that appear (or do not appear).

In AC 27, I get what you said you get in 29.

You need to tick the 'Layout ID' box to see it in the overrides.

Hi Barry,

Thank you for trying to help me.  My problem seems to be that I want the Drawing ID to show in the Title, not the Layout ID.  And when I check the box for Drawing ID, and click the override settings, Drawing ID is not available in the pulldown, only Drawing Name and Drawing Scale are listed. That is what I was attempting to demonstrate with my screenshots.

Does that help clarify my problem?

Also, it appears my other concern about the information that appears to have been removed from being displayed in the Drawing Title, such as the "NOT TO SCALE", Drawing description, etc. I have solved. It is a difference between the Built-In Drawing Title and one called NCS Drawing Title.  This would probably help explain my initial confusion from my original post. (That and my brain was tired from a long day).

Thanks again for trying to help,

Joel

I think that might be a bug.

Clicking the button to take you to the override settings, it will simply show 'Drawing Name' or 'Drawing Scale'.

Clicking that button from Name or Scale or Layout ID does open with the correct option.

There is no 'Drawing ID' and none of the other overrides affect the Drawing ID.

But the same is happening for me even in version 25.

So I suspect it has always been that way with the built-in title.

I am not familiar with the NCS one at all as that is a USA library part I believe.

Mind you I don't use the built-in title either.

Barry,

Thanks for the validation.  If it's a bug, or my confusion with between the two different Title Blocks (Built-in vs. NCS) I appreciate you taking the time to help me out.  If it's truly a bug, maybe it will get fixed at some point.

Since Graphisoft  started releasing version updates more regularly and converting to a subscription model, I thought I would try to eliminate some of our Custom settings and switch to the Built-In versions, if I could create a close facsimile to our custom one.  I figured it would help reduce the Library errors with every update.  It has been helpful, but in this case I was frustrated and confused by the Title Block.

Thanks again,
Joel

If you think this is a bug, please report it to your local resellers.

That way, it will get to the Graphisoft library developers so they can fix it.
