I have a situation. I am working for a new company and trying to implement ArchiCAD as a tool. They have presented me with the following challenge. The company handles a specific type of door with a very particular design. They want to model this door so that the visualization is exactly how the customers are buying it, and additionally, to have all the benefits of fully parameterizing it. It’s a very simple pivot door, but the dilemma lies in the frame, as it has two parts: the receiver and the support, and both are offset about 150 mm from the edge of the wall. How could I model or customize the frame? I see a lot of information about customizing the door leaf but not how to model this type of frame and details.

There are options available for modelling specific versions of all objects to suit your requirements. If you look in to the Library Part Maker add-on Param-o and GDL scripting you should be able to achieve what you need by using one or a mixture of those tools.
