Disappearing stairs in 3D marquee

I have just loaded 8.1(from 8.0 r3 aus) and thought that the problem of parts of stairs such as flights and landings dissappearing when viewed in a 3D marquee was fixed in this version. I'm finding no change even when I create a new stair in 8.1. Is this normal or am I missing something?

This is "normal" - meaning it is an old bug that is waiting for a complete rehaul of StairMaker to be corrected ...
