Doors and windows

I find the available window and door frames quite unsatisfactory. Your frames are based on blocky timber frames while most frames are now aluminium. Profiles are very different and when enlarged in detailed drawings, using timber style frames for aluminium frames looks amateurish and cannot properly represent flashings and fixings. Could you not have a typical aluminium frame in the current Door and Windows? A common brand could be selected - say 'AWS Vantage' for Australia, but any standard commercial domestic aluminium frame is going to present better than your current timber frame options.

Hi Kees,

I think the AWS rubysketch GSM windows is exactly what you are after.
Watch the tutorial on youtube and I think the link is there for the download too.

Your suggestion is brilliant! I've downloaded this AWS window tool and it does what I want. However, I can't find the 'No of operable elements' referred to in the tutorial in my live real application and have got an enquiry with the Rubysketch programmers for this. Thank you very much for your suggestion.

I'll try to explain, so bear with me.

I start with the "Panel Arrangement" first, add the columns and rows you need.
Tick the various transoms/mullions, the way you want to divide the window up.

Go back to the "Series Selection" Select the type of window, for the OP elements 1,2,3, etc...

Now in the "Operable elements" the windows should be listed.
Adjust each window by using the grid numbers to place them where you want.
So (Bottom Left corner to Top Right corner, might be 0.0 to 0.1.

Hopefully that helps.
