Doors opening in 3d

I would like to know if it is possible to have doors open in a 3D view but closed in elevation view. It makes it very difficult to open all the doors when wanting to view in 3D.

The answer you don't want to hear is that no you can't with the standard door objects.

And the bit you really don't want to hear is that it would be possible to script an object that does.
But you will be moving away from the standard objects so you will not get the benefits of any future improvements if they change in later updates.
And it won't be easy if you are not familiar with GDL scripting.

The 4D edge library doors that Ben Cohen does has seperate opening angles for 2D, 3D and elevation.

That's very interesting. I provided options for the opening angle in 2D and 3D for the modular joinery object, but assumed the door should always be closed in elevations (I've never shown an open door in elevation views before). I'm always wary of adding more options because it can become a bit overwhelming but it would be interesting to have an opinion from other ArchiCAD users as to how useful an opening angle in elevations would be (or a preferred methodology).

Most people would probablly want the doors closed in elevation / section views - at least I would.
But at the same time they may want them open in the 3D view while exploring around the model.
That is why it is good to have all 3 options.
