Library Loading Report: "Duplicates" vs. "Multiple Versions"

Craig Bagley

ArchicadWiki's tutorial on GUIDs for objects notes 4 different categories for a Library Loading Report:
1. Missing
2. Duplicates
3. Duplicate Names
4. Multiple Versions (Main ID the same, Revision ID not)

As I migrate a project from AC9 to AC14, and load ArchiCad Library 14, I get the inevitable Duplicate Objects report.

What mystifies me is the Library Loading Report doesn't appear to make any distinction between "Duplicates" and "Multiple Versions". Tracking the GUIDs of the listed duplicates (via "Open Object by Subtype") suggests they are really Multiple Versions, as their Main IDs are the same, but Revision IDs are not. I sampled three objects for their GUIDs:
_Brick Mould SE9 vs. Brick Mould 14
Gutter SE9 vs. Gutter 14
Rail Simple Bar 14 vs. Rail Simple Bar

Same issue migrating an AC11 project to AC 14.

AC14 Reference Guide only mentions "Duplicates" being noted in the Library Loading Report. Is there some discrepancy in terms between the ArchicadWiki and AC14?

I think I know what to do to resolve the duplicates, so that's not my problem. It's just this apparent discrepancy in terminology that confuses me. Does AC14 redefine "Duplicates" as objects with the same Main ID (regardless of the Revision ID), or am I missing something?

For what it's worth...

I found from personal experience, the best way to keep these messages from appearing is to open the GDL object in Archicad and save it as a new name in a different folder. Archicad then treats them like 2 separate objects especially when going from one version of Archicad to another.
