Well done Graphisoft!
I did try v1 but just never got the time for it to click, v2 is quite simple and provides level of detail (LOD) options for both 2D & 3D which work with MVO or manual setting. The objects aren't parametric, but for static objects e.g. fixed equipment, specialist window, door or roof light arrangements it is pretty straightforward.
I hope this isn't just for the UK, as it could help rebalance the onslaught of manufacturer's producing Rev:t only library parts.

There is a section on the 'About' page of the downloads page which says;
Attach your data to library part objects so you have the ‘I’ in BIM: “One-click” import of data from spreadsheets; Increase data quality and simplify bulk data sets import; Comply with data requirements specified by Product Data Templates.Is it the same as previously where the data just goes into the object parameters?

I haven't dug that deep so far, I am more concerned with the creation of 3D objects and how they look on plan. LPM seems to be doing a good job of it.
If you go to the download page you can read the manual which does have a section on custom properties, but I think the general convention is to save the library part with AC22 type properties pre filled.

Yes, the workflow for the Property data is the same as in the previous versions.
