A maya/max user actually.
Situation: helping a friend who uses autocad, who received an archicad project file and has as brief modify/improve the layout, file for permits etc.
Problem: As a maya user, never used architecture/autocad style programs, but figured it should be easy enough to install the trial version and export as .DWG, then send to mate.
Of course, (suspected this might be the case!), just a project file (.pnl or whatever it is) without assets is pretty useless. Was able to recover side elevations and other bits and bobs, but floor plan, measurements etc are missing. So shoot off email to said mate saying that his client needs to either convert to .dwg on his pc or send over the entire library of assets so that they can be relinked.
Of course (predictably) the client is not the architect/builder, just the owner, who is barely computer literate, and received the .pnl file but nothing else. The builder/project manager meanwhile went bust. So we have a .pnl file with tons of missing assets which may or may not be on some recycled hard disks somewhere.
Any way to recreate floor plans or similar, libraries etc, (don't know if they remain hidden somewhere in project files, first time using archicad,)?
Guessing mates' best bet is to find original project folder from an ex-employee, failing that redo in Autocad.
Thanks from a newb - and as an aside..yeah Maya and Max are still terrible in the same respect..everytime you take work home, have to relink everything...
Attaching screencap of what's missing..not hopeful at this point...edit screencap in png not attaching
