Modify Wall

I have seen reference to "modify wall" command, but haven't been able to find it under the edit menu, even if a wall is selected or the wall tool is active.

What am I missing? Is is a command that I have to add? I like to be able to alter direction of walls so that door label text reads correctly.

It's an add-on in the tools menu.

its default position on my version was under the 'Modify Wall' submenu in the 'Edit' menu. you may not be seeing it because it's turned off in your work environment profile. try switching to the advanced 'command layout scheme' and seeing if it shows up . . .

Thanks for the tips, but I am still unable to find the modify wall command even in the command layout schemes in the work environment.

I did find it in the add-on manager and it is checkmarked to load. Am I still missing something?

Don,
Since I did not know which version of AC you are using I assumed
you were in 8.1.
I looked in AC 9 for Modify Wall and find the same thing as you do.
Modify Wall is not in the Edit menu or the Tools menu though it is
listed as a loaded add-on in the add-on manager.

In the AC 9 manual it says:

Modify Wall Geometry (Add-On)
Note: This tool is not visible in the Standard profile interface. You
can add it to the edit menu (or any other menu) by customizing
the menu scheme in Options > Work Environment > Command
Layout Schemes > Menus; or by applying the Expert scheme in
the Scheme Options dialog box (Command Layout Schemes)

If I try to "customize" the menu scheme the Modify Wall does not
appear in the list.
The "Expert" scheme is not one the predefined schemes in my
version of AC 9 (US).

So, I am having the same problem you are.
I hope someone can help us.

there's a 'Modify Wall' submenu - the commands are in that. see the attached screenshot.

Hello Ben,
Please see attached image.
You will notice that my setup differs from yours.
On the right side after trim to roof the next item is add-on commands.
On the left side after model pictures is modules and xrefs.
This is different than your setup. There is no "Modify Wall" in
either list.

ok. try sorting your work environment commands by 'All Commands in Alphabetical Order' and searching for "Structure...", "Reference Line..." and "Invert Direction" as these are the actual names of the commands that are found within the 'Modify Wall' submenu.

if these are present, create yourself a new menu, call it 'Modify Wall' and place those three commands in it. you'll then be able to add it as a submenu wherever you choose.

if they aren't present, i'm totally stumped and you'll need to speak to GS tech or someone . . .

by the way - your last screenshot just showed where the add-on resided on your system, whilst mine also displayed the commands locations on the UI. this makes me think that it's actually a WE profile issue. i've zipped and attached here the INT 'Expert' profile. see if that helps?
