adding composite wall into a complex profile.

dear all,
i am new to archicad so my apologies if this query sounds too basic.
i have just created a complex profile for a wall, but i cannot get it to display my composite detail. it is it possible to combine these two options.

additionally my door and window frames are shooting out of the wall. how can i can i get then to align with the slope of the wall profile.

finally, is there way i can rotate the timber material i have assigned to the wall so it displays as vertical slats not horizontal as it is displaying at the moment. see attached photos. hope someone can help me?

many thanks in advance.
Olu

hello,

about the window, it might be better to use an slanted wall for the bottom part of your profile.
About composite detail, you can change the material of each segment
of your complex profile. In the complex profile interface click
on one segment of the polyline to choose the material...but I am not sure if it is what you want to do. May be you will need
to do several profiles
cheers

Olu:

To rotate all instances of the material, go to the Material Settings dialog box and set the rotation angle under Textures, you will need to do this for each Engine you are using. You can rotate individual instances by using the Align 3D Texture command.

You should add a Signature to your Profile (click the Profile button near the top of this page) with your ArchiCAD version and operating system (see mine for an example) for more accurate help in this forum.

many thanks gents,
David, i have updated my profile. and i will try your suggestion.

Dean, we used a slanted wall below is previously, but ended up with a slight step in the profile of the wall.
i did manage to create several layer/materials/segments on the complex profile, and they have different materials, but it still ends up only displaying in color fills in both plan and elevation. can those fills be changed to a vector pattern? or can i create on overall complex profile say 350mm deep then fill it with a composite wall?

many thanks for time.

you need to arrange the connection between slanted wall and profile wall
if still making trouble check up the wall priority and if still making trouble
save your profile wall as object when done and keep the original shape somewhere in any case.
Then about the composite stuff, I do not know what you mean. The vector fill option disappear when you select a complex profile. Indeed
what we see in 2D is the projection of the object. I guess you want to see
the top of your profile displayed as a composite wall ?
Did you tried to draw several profiles within the same profile or separately ?
it works out and you can change the colors at least for the complex profiles
Cheers

I found this link. May be it will help
but I am afraid you can not assign vectorial fills on complex profiles...

black7kilt sorry,

I am totally wrong, you can assign vectorial fills within the complex profile manager. So you are saved. I am surprised that nobody corrected me
