You could try www.archibase.net (on the "Free 3D models" tab). They have a few statues already made, maybe something will suit. You can narrow your search down with the "Filter objects" button.
Otherwise, Archicad is not great at making free-form shapes like you'll want.

Do you purely want to create a statue from scratch or are you looking to be able to insert a statue into ArchiCAD?
If all you need is to get a model of a statue into ArchiCAD A quick and simple solution could be to use a photograph of the statue you want, with an alpha layer to remove the background, and use the library part 'People Bitmap 10' with the picture set to custom. You will need to have the photograph loaded in your library for it to work.
This will then always rotate towards the camera, but will look a bit flat!
It would look fine if you were viewing it from a distance though.
If you did find a 3D model that was already made but not in GDL format, for example 3ds format, you can import it by going to the 'Design' menu then 'Design extras' then 'import 3dstudio file'. I think this feature is a Goodie that you can download for free from graphisoft. This is perhaps more complex than you want.
To create a statue from scratch is very complicated, but you would need to use an external program such as 3D Studio, Maya or XSI, for example.
Good luck!

well that is right what I wanted to ask...:how to import "3ds" files?
because it is truly mutch easier to import 3ds files than just make an object from scratch. And I have found what I was looking for, but the problem now is that I am clicking on the "Design" menu and going
to "Design extras" but the "import 3dstudios file" button is nowhere to be found

It would be nice if this was written in the manual anywhere ...
