problem with object: CW Door 10

Anonymous
Not applicable
Please see attached image, I have a problem with this object: 08 Doors-Windows 10/ Curtain Walls 10/ CW Door 10
When I change Direction of opening to “Left” the 2D floor plan symbol gets all screwed up, it shows correctly in 3D, when the direction is right everything is fine!

I’m using the AC library 10 that originally came with my installation. AC 10, 987 USA full

Hassanen,
First off, I am jealous as my AC10 lib has only 3 curtain wall objects and checking for Library updates it says there are none, mine is current.

I do, however, have the object you are using, but mine has no place to switch the hinge side of the door as yours does. Still jealous.

Unlike other door and window objects, this one does not mirror.

the only way I could get the swing you wanted is to place the curtain wall with the door opening in and then checking the flip box.

I don't know why yours isn't working, but perhaps this solution might be of help.

Or not.

I think you only see 3 curtain wall objects when you are in the Door tool but if you're in the object tool you could see the rest of the objects, and it seems like you've indicated the object behaves differently in the door tool, so the change direction option is not there! I'll try your way monday when I have access to AC 10, thanks.

Also, I just tried AC 9 and this object seems to function fine when changing direction of opening!

Thanks, yes, when I go to the curtain wall as a library part I get the full range.

Here also I find the same 2D errors that you do. You should report the bug.

Several year hs ago (AC&?) Id problems with the curtain walls and Graphisoft said they new and would fix but haven't. I couldn't follow all the script when I opened it up to see where to fix it, but I am not a DGL expert.

Placing the piece you want as a door rather than an object should be a viable workaround for the time being.

what's the official way of reporting a bug to Graphisoft?

You would think (after all these years) that there would be a 'Report a bug' link at:
http://www.graphisoft.com/support/archicad/

The answer is to report to your reseller/distributor/tech support for the country you are in. For North America, the report goes through GS US tech support either via phone or email via this form:
http://tr.graphisoftus.com/ask_us.asp

Thanks Karl, so can I directly fill out this form or does a reseller have to do it?
