how can i make an object with a hole inside it..example, i would like to make a lamp..i am going to use a cylinder but how can i make a hole inside of it where i can put my bulb..thanx....

Use "Cylinder Shell" instead.
Or for more sophisticated shapes, a Complex Profile in a circular wall.
