Just click on the "3d cutaway" again, your cut away must be cleared

After switching your cutting plane off, have you rebuilt your 3D model? If not, try that and see if it works.

yep, didn't solve it.

and funny thing, it happens only in that corner of the building. if I go around it, i'm not getting the ghost 3D cutaway!

It is strange ;
Did you try the "delete all cutting planes" in 3d cutting planes

This is a strange and thankfully rare bug in the program. I have seen it once before at one of my clients. The building is cut away at some depth from the viewer, but only from one general direction. Rotate around the building and the problem goes away. It was reported to Graphisoft but I am not aware of any outcome yet. As I recall it occurred only on one particular machine and only in OpenGL.

Try opening the file on another computer if you can. You could also try merging the file into a new blank one. I will ask my client when I see them Thursday what resolution they came to with this.

I just got a reply from the guys where we had the problem. They replaced the display card and it went away.

matthew, this is what happens exactly.
i will try to open the file on a diff machine or merge it on a blank file, the card replacement is not possible at the moment.

thank you

it's annoying!

This bug is not related to the cutplanes or the graphic card. I've got the same one in may project. If I rotated camera some part of the model was disappearing. In axonometric view there where no problem. I've tested it on different PC with various graphic card and the bug was always there. So it had to be something wrong with a model. I found out that the bug was produced by... DOORS' KNOBS. When I removed all the doors and rebuilt the model everything was ok. Then I put new doors, exactly the same as before but without knobs. And there is no more the problem. So check your model carefully, especially your windows and doors.

That would be nice if that worked! I'll have to try it the next time I run into this highly annoying problem.

Another way to get around it is to open a different *saved* perspective view that is *not* a cutaway, and then go back to the one you're trying to look at. It's kludgy, but it seems to work.
