Is there a easy way to put text into a 3d model by using library parts or otherwise? for instance modeling a sign on a building

There is a library part called exactly "3d text". I'm not exactly sure where it is now, but you can open up the library and search for text or 3d text.

1: Search for "3D Text" object in Archicad Library.

2: Use a picture with object "Parapicture" attached.

Had some extra time to fool around w/ AC...
BTW, is there a difference between the parapicture object and the picture 10 object in the AC library? It looks like the pic seems a bit brighter in the parapicture object to me. Maybe it's good for pics w/ alpha channel..?

One letter at a time using the 3D Text object.

See:

Here's a diagram of how it happens:

A: a series of 3D text objects rotated/multiplied standing up in a horizontal arc
B: A series of 3D text objects rotated/multiplied laying down in a horizontal arc
C: The "B" arc saved as a library object from the side i wanted to be the top.

Or take a peek here.

It may not do all you want but it will place 3D text at a given radius.

thanks

i decide to use the free one, because one letter at a time is a waste of time.

That's another command that now archicad should copy from vectorworks.
