Wanted to start a list of AC11 Little improvements......which are not announced:

First Selection outline now is shown in dots
Second Selection outline is shown in Dot Dash Dot

Nice, yet still short cut C for changing of the method is still not implemented, must be very hard to code it in!

just installed it today... trying to work some library kinks out.... did you transfer a project from an earlier version (i was using using 10).... any problems with composite walls.... elevation/section markers..... ect?

if you have any words of wisdom to make this transfer... i'd love to hear anything

k
I have moved one project from 10 to 11 and found a slight quirk in the section/elevation transfer. I had one section that used an elevation marker since the two end markers were cut off in the layout of the plan. When translated to 11 it is an Elevation and you can't seem to change it to a Section (Section marker doesn't seem to be available under the elevation marker sub-menu). So check all of your markers in 10 before you move over. Also make sure you download the AC10 Subset library from the Goodies web page (under the help menu). The library transfer has been surprisingly smooth.

one little improvement gs did not do was come up with a v11 desktop icon. to me it looks exactly like v10 icon. do i need my eyes checked??!! did i really get v11? sometimes it is the 'little' things.
I know what you mean. They can come up with gorpy new artwork for the splash screen, why can't they come up with a gorpy new icon?

I miss the Herzog artwork, even if turquoise and burnt orange are passe.

You may know this already but you can right mouse click the Icon and go to Properties and the then Select the Change Icon.

I've created this little chap, but how do you save it as an icon file?

stuart, great v 11 icon (maybe x.99++).
jay, i headed to the mac side a few years back. i have not figured out how to do the 'change icon' thing on a mac. really i am not sure why i would need to.
i looked through a few different posts before i selected this one to add my meager comment to. many times it really is the small things, as i mentioned earlier, that matter. that is part of the reason i moved to archicad 4 yrs ago from another cad program thats new release is X1 .
this release seems a bit like back to the future. the box has a beautiful design originally created possibly before i was born, redone a few years ago by an architect using archicad. it is much more relaxing than the last gorp.
dwight, maybe we need a new herzog icon or one from canada's funniest architect!

Here you go. Now save it somewhere safe and then use Jay's instructions to change.

(P.S - I used Irfanview to resave as an ico file.)

Sorry, no screen shots (sadly i'm stuck on windows), but do this:
1) Download stuart's jpg and save somewhere safe.
2) Select the file and press Command + I (or right click -> get info)
3) Click on the icon picture at the top right of the get info window and it should get a bit of a blue highlight around it. Then press command + c (or right click -> copy).
4) Get Info for archicad11.app (or whatever it's called) in the applications -> graphisoft folder.
5) Click on the icon and make sure you get the blue halo thingy.
6) Command + V (or right click -> paste)

There's probably a more technical way to do it, but that's always worked for me. Just make sure the original jpg isn't deleted.

Neither am I - is a new icon necessary? Until V10 we had the same 3 pencils for ever...

Nice one Tom. My image doesn't scale down well to the Quick Launch toolbar, but once I get on to 11 I will get rid of 10 from Quick Launch and just have 11 there, so no worries.

Cheers.

Select the file/app/whatever in finder. Command I (info). Click on the icon then command V (will paste what is in the clipboard into the icon view).

Command X or delete to go back to the default.
