AC11 Little improvements......

Anonymous
Not applicable
Wanted to start a list of AC11 Little improvements......which are not announced:

First Selection outline now is shown in dots
Second Selection outline is shown in Dot Dash Dot

Nice, yet still short cut C for changing of the method is still not implemented, must be very hard to code it in!

I am not an Owner (and therefor user) of AS11 ...yet... but my hunch is that you must hotlink all stories for the SEO to remain intact. The Link All Stories seems to be an ALL or NOTHING. This would not be the best practice for me. I am often Linking maybe 3 of the 5 stories only, so the "old" AC10 method of business seems to be the same. Publish the Module files individually with publisher and update in Master file. Actually not a big deal.
Not true, if you do a "Save As" from the 2D window, you can choose the range of stories you want to have in the hotlink (the stories have to be sequential). This is a much needed improvement over hotlinking stories individually. Individual is easy enough for one time, but if you need to move them around, then you end up moving each story rather than the whole model!

Another minor improvement, but my eyes are very appreciative: horizontal dividing lines within the Parameter screen of the GDL dialog.

I'm using AC11!!! Still have the SEO problem, though.
Bugger.

I've only had the chance to run a few simple test using various module saving methods, and everything comes in fine. Maybe you have a complex model or situation that breaks the module SEO's somehow?

Cheers,
Link.

What's worse, however, is that I am using multiple instances of the same hotlinked model and each instance is at a different elevation and angle of rotation. Where one hotlink may appear just fine, another instance of it will have walls protruding through the roof! It's very confusing to figure out why one behaves correctly where the other does not.

If this were added, I'd of called it a little improvement... but, as someone noted elsewhere.. it's been removed.
It's the Sun azimuth setting in the section/elevation tool. I rather liked the graphic interface.

BTW Joseph... where does this occur?

He's referring to the new arrow selection interface. Whe you swipe with the Selection method set to Partial Elements, the bounding box/polygon will appear as a dotted line. When you swipe with the Selection method set to Entire Element, the bounding box/polygon will appear as a dash-dot line. And unfortunately there is still no shortcut to switch between the two Selection methods.

BTW I don't think you'll ever see a graphical interface for the sun settings in section or elevation ever again.

Cheers,
Link.
