Another GUI change in AC15 - error or feature?

When editing a roof, clicking the edge brings up the pet pallet. Select 'offset edge', edit the roof, then select another edge, bringing up the pet pallet again and the 'offset edge' tool needs to be selected again. It used to default each time to the last tool selected, and other tools still do.

It would be nice to have this returned to previous functionality, same with the 'cursor snap variants' button and the SHIFT+R functionality without requiring ALT+S. I use all of these extensively and they used to work very intuitively.

Thanks!

This has been a bit variable over the years. Typically the pet palette does remember the last selection for each tool but sometimes it doesn't. It seems to be a problem more often in 3D than 2D views and is generally worse in Windows than on Mac. I assume it's some fairly tricky UI voodoo the way it seems to change from version to version, but I assume GS' intent is that the last selection should always be recalled.

The pet palette also sometimes makes you click twice to get the function you want even though it appears to be selected. This used to Windows only but now pops up on the Mac sometimes.

I've noticed this also. Quite annoying.

In 15 I have found this only to be a problem with roofs.
Slabs, fills, etc. seem to work fine.
I did report this during beta-testing and it has been targeted for a "future release".
I would rather it be fixed in a hotfix.
