If you can how do you add the japanese furniture like tatami mats, shouji, futons and things like that.

It certainly is possible. Depending on the level of detail desired you will probably need to make some custom profiles and do some SEOs. Tatami and shogi can be made pretty easily with material settings and one-off library parts. If you really want to get fancy with the timber joinery it could get quite fussy but that would be true in any program.
