Changing default from feet to inches

Is there a way to enter distances or lengths in inches as default instead of feet?

susan - change your 'working units' to fractional or decimal inches . . .

If you have already set up your view set, you will need to redefine your views. There is a hidden display option to set the dimensions per your latest selection.

ah ok. sorry. i thought we were talking about default working units not dimension units . .
