Creating a simple extruded profile in ArchiCAD13

Hi,

I am new to ArchiCAD and I am trying to create a simple oval extruded profile to represent a advertisement on the elevation of a building. I have tried a few different options (like attempting to create an extrusion as an object) but I have not found a way. It just needs to be a simple oval shape that can be extruded 100mm etc. It would also be good if I could attach a JPEG image of the advert to the face of the oval if that is possible.

Thanks

You'll investigate the Custom Profile. This allows you to create an oval in section and extrude it using the beam or wall tool.

See Eric's article in the ArchiWiki:

As for placing a JPEG:
Since it is oval, you'll make a new material Using the JPEG as the texture image.

Use this new material to surface the oval.

The oval probably won't exactly fit, so you'll align the texture. I don't have Archicad 13 on right now, but it is probably found under Design>Align 3D Texture> Set origin. OR something like that. CLick around a little and see what happens.

Thanks for the reply Dwight. I have played around with the Profile Manager and have somewhat managed to achieve what I am after.

Firstly, when creating a new profile it has to be created with a Fill, as opposed to using the line tool I assume? When using the line tool, there are no issues creating a perfect oval, however when using the Fill tool it makes creating an oval much harder as the curve options (arc with tangent, arc by 3 points, arc by centre point) can not create an oval in one process. From what I gather, an oval has to be created with a combination of these with multiple lines and even then I can't get a perfect oval...Any way around this? Thanks

Ignore my previous post. I have figured out what I wanted to know. I just created a circle with the fill tool, and check the box 'Horizontal Stretch' which then allows me stretch the circle into a oval once the wall/beam is placed in the project.

A clever solution.
However:
Circles are stretchy.
After drawing a circle, click on a node. The pet palette gives you the stretch-to-oval option.
