A complex profile assigned to a beam (then inclined) in the shape of the cross section would do the trick.

I'm not sure that is possible in version 9 is it?
I'm not sure I skipped that version.

There is a bit of a jump between version 9 and 12 (or now 13) but I think it would be worth it for the new features.

Hello Barry,
You are correct. Complex profiles came in with AC 10.
In AC 9 one would have to resort to GDL to model this kind of roof.
Tweaking a Profiler object or making an object from scratch.
There was always the mesh tool, tedious but doable.
How did we ever get along without complex profiles ? (we didn't)

OBJECTiVE will easily take care of this, and it works in AC9 too. You can find more info and examples at the link Gerald provided.
